Robertas Šapronas, Defense Policy Director at the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense, has over 20 years of professional experience within the national defense system and in international organizations. In the course of his career, Robertas Šapronas held a number of senior posts within the Ministry of National Defense, he also worked as Defense Adviser at the Lithuanian Permanent Representation to NATO and, later, at the Lithuanian Permanent Representation to the European Union. He is particularly interested in security developments in Russia, Belarus as well as in defense reform processes in Eastern and Central European countries. Before assuming his current position, Robertas Šapronas worked as senior adviser on Security Sector Reform in the Republic of Moldova.
Robertas Šapronas is a graduate of the Central European University, holding MA degree in International Relations and European Studies.
